The Rotary Foundation

The mission of The Rotary Foundation is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.

The Rotary Foundation helps fund our humanitarian activities, from local service projects to global initiatives. Your club or district can apply for grants from the Foundation to invest in projects and provide scholarships. The Foundation also leads the charge on worldwide Rotary campaigns such as and . Rotary Club of Cobleskill


Chartered April 15, 1924

The Rotary Club of Cobleskill was chartered on April 15, 1924 as Club No. 4914 of what is now Rotary International.  The formation of the Cobleskill Club was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Oneonta, N.Y.  We have been serving our local community and Rotary International during their many times of need for the last 91 years.  The Rotary Club of Cobleskill is part of District 7190

The first Rotary Club in the world was organized in Chicago, IL. on February 23, 1905.  From Chicago, Rotary soon spread to other cities.  The second Rotary Club was founded in San Francisco, CA. in 1908, and the organization of other clubs followed rapidly, New York City Club No. 6 was organized on August 6, 1909.  Rotary International was formed into Districts in 1915 and is currently made up of 527 Districts worldwide.  Today our District 7190 includes the counties of Warren, Washington, Saratoga, Fulton, Montgomery, Schoharie, Schenectady, Albany and Rensselaer with 41 Rotary Clubs.
